Spa Electrics Power Supply
The opportunity
Spa Electrics is a leading Australian manufacturer and
supplier of advanced lighting products for spa and swimming
pool applications. We had been manufacturing high efficiency
toroidal transformer coils for Spa Electrics for many years
and they were being locally assembled into the finished power
supply. Like most Australian businesses, Spa Electrics needed
to reduce product costs in order to remain competitive.
Their product range was renowned for the highest standards
of quality and so it was critical that any cost reduction or
alternate manufacturing solution had to maintain or improve
product quality.
The solution
We successfully transitioned the range of power supplies
from local production to complete offshore production at our
Chinese facility and delivered the promised cost benefits.
Additionally, we worked with Spa Electrics to implement
stock management systems and localised warehousing
arrangements designed to improve product availability
throughout their seasonal consumption cycles and periods of
unpredictable demand.
